Signs in Infants:
We usually see:
shallow latch
colic
reflux
excessive gas
dimpling of cheeks when suckling
lip blisters
clicking noises while eating
high palate
gagging
unsuccessful weight gain.
Moms usually report painful breastfeeding, repetitive bouts of mastitis and thrush, and ultimately a decrease in milk production.
All of these struggles tend to lead to the discontinuation of breast feeding.
